Wordless Wednesday: Turkey Craft

A classic craft. Trace child's feet for the body and hands for the "feathers". I helped by putting on glue and then C put on the pieces. Easy-peasy turkey craft:)

That is cute! I take it after the tracing, you cut the shape for him? So what does he do while you are cutting shapes? I tried doing a craft thing with F but he just got impatient and ran off somewhere. Any ideas on how to keep their attention? Or does this just depend on their personality?

    • Personality definitely plays a roll but there are some tricks that might help you out. Try doing the craft in shifts. First shift, do the tracing. Then let him run off. Cut the shapes out when he is sleeping or happily playing with his favourite toys. Next shift, do the gluing. If he loses interest part way through, do even those steps in shifts. As he gets older, his attention span will increase. They say a child’s attention span is his or her age plus one. So a two year old only has a three minute attention span! For now, it’s better for him to have positive experiences of doing a task, however short.

Also, I make sure I prep everything before I call C to the table. Prepping things ahead of time is key. C will also get into mischief it he has to wait – ah, the fun of two year old boys:)
