Creative Kids Moment: Hanukkah Crafts

Here are a couple of Hanukkah crafts we have done this past week:

Hanukkah Crafts

For the first ones, I cut out shapes from black construction paper.  C then painted the back with glue.  Last C put strips of tissue paper across the back (I ripped them into strips for him but he chose the colours).  I did put a dot of glue between the strips if there was a lot of layover just to keep the layers together.  Then I just trimmed any overspill of tissue paper.

2) For the second one, C helped me glue two triangles using popsicle sticks and then we glued the triangles together.  Once the glue dried, C painted the stars blue.

Once the paint dried, we tried two different strategies.  For one star, we put glue on the back and laid tissue paper across the back (like with the ones construction paper).  For the other one, we glued scrapbooking paper on the back but it could also make a great photo frame!

Happy Hanukkah Crafting!

This is a really great way to teach the kids about other cultures and traditions. Thanks for sharing 🙂
