Creative Kids: Father’s Day Cards

We have a daddy and three grandpas to make Father’s Day cards for in our family so we tried a variety of ideas for fun.  Today’s post will share the grandpa cards.

You’re out of this world, Grandpa!

Out of this world cards

UFO cardFor two of the grandpas, we made space themed cards.  C is liking space lately so I thought some “You are out of this world” cards would be a good excuse to make UFOs.  We used painted pages for the base of the space crafts and their drivers.  C went to town gluing google eyes to decorate the aliens.  We used jewel stickers for the saucers’ lights and painted pages circles (left over from our (Grand) mother cards) for planets as a finishing touch.

For another grandpa who likes to fish, we made some hand print fish cards.

Fish cardI folded two pieces of construction paper together and cut out a shape of a fishbowl.  Then I stapled the pieces together.  This way the card is more sturdy.  C made a handprint on one side and Q made one on the other side.  Once the paint dried, C made red and blue “circles” along the bottom and added in waterplants (aka green lines).  I drew in the “hooks”.

I thought these turned out cute but then we went on to make stuff for daddy.  Hopefully I’ll get that post out tomorrow…
