Creative Kids: Marine Rainbow: Turtles

From the movie Nemo, which I’ve already mentioned my kids love, some of their favourite characters (besides the little guy himself) are the surfer turtles.  So we had to make some, dude!

To begin we painted our plates green (C was in absolute delight just at this).  Once dried I cut out several holes in the middle of the plate.  These holes will serve as the pattern of the shell.   The cut out pieces were then used to make the head, tail, and legs for each turtle.

On the back side we glued on all the appendages and also some pieces of tissue paper to cover the holes.  In essence, they are kind of suncatcher turtles:)  Last step was the googly eyes, of course.

It’s starting to look quite colourful in our entrance way!
